Our Story

Emy Rose was born from inspiration from my cousin, Gin, who lives abroad and travels the world. As a full-time career women and single mom of two young daughters, always looking for ways that I could support them in the best way possible, showing them that hard work pays off, the concept of beautiful hand-crafted items from India bought to South Africa really felt like a good fit. Having a fully online business that I could juggle between everything else, also felt like the best possible side-hustle I could dream of. None of it would have been possible without Gin traveling to India and sourcing our products and partnering with me on this journey. 

The Craft Behind the Cloth

What sets Emy Rose apart is a dedication to artisan techniques that are increasingly rare. Our pieces feature Kashmiri Aari embroidery — a centuries-old hand-embroidery tradition from the Kashmir Valley, where skilled artisans use a hooked needle to create intricate, flowing patterns stitch by stitch. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Alongside this embroidery heritage, we source premium cottons chosen for their softness, breathability, and durability. We believe in clothing that feels as considered as it looks.

Made with Intention

We are deliberate about what we make and how we make it. Our collections are curated rather than mass-produced — each piece selected for its quality of material, its artisan finish, and its ability to be worn and loved for years, not seasons.

Sustainability, for us, is less a trend and more a practice: choosing natural fibres, working with skilled artisans, and designing pieces that don't go out of style.
